CFP Board Resources

The major personal financial planning areas are outlined in the CFP Board's list of Principal Topics, which serves as the blueprint for the March 2016 and later administrations on the CFP® certification examination. Each exam question will be linked to one of the Principal Knowledge Topics, in the approximate percentages indicated with the general category headings.

These Principal Topics also serve as a curriculum framework and represent subject topics the CFP Board accepts for continuing education credit, effective January 2012.
