  • 1.  Is there any interest in a mastermind group?

I would like to start a mastermind group (or groups if there is enough interest) to form connections within the industry and bounce ideas off of each other. The two primary goals would be:

    1. Hold each other accountable to our study schedules and/or education requirements

    and

    2. Discuss the industry as a whole, form new ideas/concepts, and discuss the pros/cons of our workplace or situation. I think this could help us all learn new ways of doing things, and things to avoid when in leadership positions.

We would meet via Zoom or Google Meet once or twice a month and have some sort of group chat/forum set up for discussion in between. If this is something that is of interest to you please introduce yourself with the following:

    Name
    Location
What areas of the industry interest you the most
    Years of experience

    I'll go first!

    Name: David Dahl
    Location: Quincy, IL
What areas of the industry interest you the most: I love the overall planning process, developing/managing client relationships, and firm system development (putting in place processes, procedures, and evaluating scalability). I am also very interested in the RLP (Registered Life Planner) designation. We have an advisor here that is an RLP and I've seen him do some very amazing things for clients during the life planning process.
Years of experience: Only about 6 months.

David - I'm not sure if you're already a member but there is a Slack Community - Future Financial Planners that includes a mix of folks pursuing their CFP as well as folks who have earned their CFP but may be early in their career or operating in more of a mentor capacity.  We have bi-quarterly meet-ups as well for accountability.  I know you're looking for something a bit more robust but you may find this to be an engaging group!
