Does anyone know if there are certificate programs that satisfy the CFP financial educational requirement that would allow me to use the Post 9/11 GI Bill? I was interested in Dalton, but they don't accept it.

I'm in the Georgetown University certificate in Financial Planning program and the post 9/11 GI bill is covering it.  There is another fellow in my class using it as well.

A little off topic, but more of a PSA. I'm using Voc rehab to pay for mine. Actually working on MSFP which includes CFP.  You can also get VA to pay for certification exam through  Voc rehab.

Enjoli- The College for Financial Planning accepts the Post 9/11 GI bill for their CFP course. You can either do the self study or online program, whichever is easier. The only requirement for the program is to provide them with the letter from VA stating your eligibility.

As long as the school is accredited with VA you are fine. Most of the University affiliated will have that in place. I used Tuition Assistance through College for Financial Planning for the MSFP & Accredited Wealth Management Advisor certifications. For TA, the requirement was the same as for VA.

I am using 520 College Savings Plan Fund, which has the same criteria as the GI bill. I found Metropolitan Community College of Nebraska (MCC-NEB) has the best tuition rates for veterans as instate resident rates.
I am on my third online course now and have enjoyed my courses.

If you are military or military spouse, you should look into the Penn Mutual Center for Veteran's Affairs at The American College.  They offer scholarships for those pursuing the CFP/ChFC credentials.  You have the choice of self-study or instructor-led webinar courses.  I completed my educational component only paying out of pocket for my CFP exam and review.  Please let me know if you need more info!

I'm in the CFFP program working on CFP/MSFP.  They are accredited by the VA as stated earlier.  If you want the CFP certification you have to take the self-study or the guided self-study.  If you take the regular distance classed the CFP board won't accept the classes.  Don't ask me why.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my question. I looked at previous discussion posts and realized I wasn't the only person to ask about using the Post 9/11 GI Bill to pay for a CFP certification program. I'm pretty busy with my current jobs (Air Force civilian/Navy reservist), so I haven't had much time to focus on this. However, I did want to post links to four CFP programs that accept the Post 9/11 GI Bill just in case others have the same question in the future.
