    Hello,

If I apply for challenge status is it possible to have some of the course work waived or is it all or none? I have a bachelors in Finance and some of my course work overlaps with the required course work for the CFP. From reading through I see that if your a PHD or have other credentials you can have almost all of the course work waived and sit for the exam but is it possible in my case to have even a few of the required courses waived?

    Thank you,
    John

Even I was the challenge status candidate & I still have to take capstone course. I pass the CFP test in November 2017.

You aren't going to be a challenge status candidate unless you meet those specific requirements of JD, CPA, PHD, etc. which requires only the capstone. Instead you are looking to get certain courses waived that you don't have to take, and only take the CFP courses that you specifically didn't take in college. You need the board to do a "Transcript Review". On the below link there is a form that you need to fill out "Application for Transcript Review" and instructions on the process.

Challenge with a JD isn’t brutal to get eligible to sit. The Capstone is a lot of work but I did it in 30/45 days while keeping my day job. Got an A- on the Capstone project which was nice. CFFP program. I submitted my experience (20+ years of estate planning business and elder law) and that was approved by CFP within 24/48 hours. Now “just” the exam to get to use the marks..... November is the plan. EAT, pray, study....
