I am currently enrolled in the CFFP's educational program.  I've made it through Module 1 (Financial Planning Process and Insurance)
and will start Module 2 (Investment Planning) at the end of this month.  Due to juggling the demands of work with studying during the evening and weekends, I likely won't be able to make it through the entire educational program for another year or so.

I found the balance of live online classes (recordings are available too) with chapter/module quizzes to work well when I completed the Registered Paraplanner course through the College.  I did, however, create my own flash cards for the CFP course as it is way more detailed than the Registered Paraplanner material.

Let me know if there is anything I can help with.

I have completed 4 of the 6 courses through CFFP and am working on number 5. I didn't have a choice of which company to use because work said I have to use CFFP.

    Pros:
    • Flexibility - you can attend the live online courses or watch the recording at leisure
    • You are not required to take end of course exams at a testing center (you can use a proctor)
    • All of my professors have been extremely responsive to email questions
    • The course books are pretty easy to read and they break each course into several small books rather than a 1000 page monster to lug around

    Cons:
    • Unlike prep for the 7, 66, or insurance licensure through Kaplan, there is no huge log of multiple choice questions to drill yourself on constantly. They do it this way for max comprehension and retention, but it did take some adjusting for me.
      • Each course gets maybe 150 or 200 essay/short answer style questions.
      • Each module (the subsections of the large course - usually 7-10 per course) has one 30ish question multiple choice "Module Check" to review that chunk of information.
      • There are typically 2 end of course, full length multiple choice practice exams.
    • If online classes are not your thing, then this may not be the method for you.
